I recently discovered this band, and bought Human Stain. This album is really good, it is heavy but melodic, and melodic without it being watered down. The band has really good musicianship without sounding pretentious, due to the fact that they seem to care about listenability more than trying to prove something. The album is solid, which means it doesn't have any fillers. They sound slightly similar to Rainbow, which is a good thing imo. If you haven't heard of them or listened to their...

I just got this album today, and what I've heard so far really rocks. So far the highlight of the Album is The Fire Burns Forever. Also it seems to be a slight return to their first album.

I just finished listening to the album, and my favorite is still The Fire Burns Forever. The next two to round out the top three is Genocide and Titan(which reminds me of Balls To The Wall by Accept to a degree). The title song isn't bad either.
Arctica's new album has been floating around the net for some time now, so I decided to check it out.

The best way to describe Reckoning Night is to think of it as Winterheart’s Guild, Part 2. If you liked Winterheart's Guild, chances are, you are probably gonna like Reckoning Night. If you were disappointed by Winterheart's Guild or thought it was mediocre, you will hate Reckoning Night. Unfortunately for me, I fall into the latter category. I've listened to the whole album many times...

Unlike the Pop Idol winners, though, this band is worth your time. They hail from Finland and, quite surprisingly, are NOT a Stratovarius clone! And yes, I love Rhapsody, so this review may be slightly biased...

However, what we have here are 5 songs, a preview of Rhapsody's next full album. 3 speed metal tunes in traditional RHAPSODY fashion, (not a whole lot of change here, but nothing sounds recycled). Even their debut, Angel Falls First, was stellar.
I will start by saying I bought this album on an impulse buy because the cover intrigued me. It has since become one of my favorite albums.
Arcturus is a side band composed of members from several popular black metal bands (Mayhem, Ulver) but they play an avant-garde style which employs keyboards, samples and classical instruments to create a unique sound (distantly reminiscent of black metal).
Strato's new album is out and I have fallen in love with it. This album is so much better than Pt.1, and to me, is even better than the previous two albums, Destiny and Infinite.

The main complain with Pt.1 was the heavy use of orchestration which was a huge departure from what the band used to do, and the sometimes-annoying high vocals.
