Is Sonota Arctica like Rhapsody? I have not heard them. But I take it they are good since you have listed Rhapsody as #2, cause Rhapsody rocks!

Sonata Arctica aren't like Rhapsody but they are super awesome nonetheless. If you haven't listened to any of them I would suggest doing so. They don't have fantasy lyrics, narration, or that feeling of grandeur like Rhapsody but they are one the best power metal bands out.

Thanks all for recommending Sonata Arctica to me. As you can see, I edited my top 5 to include them. THEY RULE!!! I have heard of them many times, but never realized I would like them so much! Nice question but harder to answer than I thought it would be! Top 5 bands ever or top 5 bands now :P
*Manowar are in both, they are killer ("and warriors, warriors of the world!") *Blind Guardian were the first proper power metal band I got into, I still love the thrashy older stuff but haven't really listened to the newer stuff for ages  *Helloween I don't often listen to, but I do love 'em and when I do it blows me away. Only got one real album; better than raw; but got some super 29 song "Treasure Chest" thing, which is brill. Apart from the odd metallica song, Helloween taught me that metal can still be metal when its slow (a tale that wasn't right I think is certainly such a song) *Mercyful fate are a band I hate to love, they are and since Melissa, have been one of the mostest skillfull groups I've ever heard and King Diamond (alone and with MF) has one of the finest male metal vocals ever I believe. It's just a real problem getting cd's by them :'( *Nightwish- finally but certainly not the least favourite Nightwish, were the first time I heard a real woman sing (reference mtv2->pop->avril lavinge->etc) and by God can she sing. A real angel's voice backed by often what I think is very fine, talented metal background under a power keyboardist. True brilliance Well I guess thats my top 5, but not really in an order other that which they came out of my head and off my playlist! 5 very fine bands that represent to me, at this moment and since I first heard them, what metal is, always has been and forever will be! /inserts silly joke here Says I'm a traveller near my name.. And boy did I ramble on then *kicks self*
